Little Leaguer's Elbow

Little Leauger's elbow is common complaint, usually in young athletes and very common in baseball players. It is due to the repetitive motions like that found in pitching and swinging and is essentially an inflammation and/or tearing of muscles where they attach on the bone on the inside aspect of the elbow. It is the result of repetitive stress on a growing segment and can result in a popping or clicking in the elbow with the typical patient experiencing pain that is sharp and local to a specific area. Like all repetitive stress type injuries, little leaguer's elbow responds very well to various muscle release techniques and when combined with immobilization and bracing the success rate of treatment is quite high. Extreme cases require surgical intervention but is it wise to take a conservative, non invasive approach to care first.
